A local landmark in Tanjong Pagar, the lively district between Chinatown and the world’s busiest container port, The Amara served the area as a city hotel for business, dining and meetings along with its own retail mall. The area has re-emerged as a dynamic precinct for boutique businesses, night life and vibrant local shopping and new hotels.
Undergoing a complete transformation ICN developed a landscape plan to correspondingly transform all four streetscape frontages surrounding the complex providing an entirely new leisure experience for the public, shoppers, guests and visitors. Along busy Tanjong Pagar Road the streetscape is fashioned as a continuous forecourt, opening up and extending both the mall and hotel into an urban environment of sophisticated granite pavements edge seating and tiered hedging. Generous pavements lead past active water tables, blade walls and bespoke stainless steel sentinels into spacious and active store fronts. On Tuas Street a new dining terrace was created for shoppers and diners with views over the busy street. By day and night 100AM has become a vibrant presence in the revitalized district streetscape.
