Rapid urban development in the Garden City of Singapore has seen the skyline rise with an exciting new architecture of “pixilated” towers. What is needed more and more within the city is an equally strong articulation of the public realm; those urban spaces people share with each other, mixing ‘street’, retail, office and business. Along Beach Road, a city precinct with scattered historic military buildings has been transformed by a unique fabric of spaces bringing old and new together. Combining existing mature trees, street frontages, plazas and heritage building surrounds this unique civic environment expresses a contemporary urban landscape.

Working with world renowned architect Foster & Partners, ICN Design developed an exciting urban landscape plaza along a grand mall in scale with the varied massing of buildings old and new alongside. The mall of both interior and exterior spaces creates a new promenade for people to gather and walk; a comfortable environment designed for people to relax in our tropical city.
